Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Thoughts Before Cooking:

You know me and smoothies! And I’m game for anything that uses up my big container of oatmeal. I found it from pinterest and it is from The Schmidty Wife.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup of Oatmeal
  • 3/4 Cup of Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter
  • 1 Banana
  • 4-5 Ice Cubes

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients in the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.

Thoughts After Cooking:

It was good. What amazes me is that there is only a little bit of peanut butter but it is so overpowering. A yummy smoothie

Blueberry Muffin Smoothie

Yummmm! Smoothies! I love drinking smoothies, especially in summertime. Summer is hot and I’m so busy with Summer Reading at the library it is great to make one the night before and drink it on the drive over.

When I saw that it was a blueberry muffin smoothie I was very intrigued. Would it really taste like it?

I found this recipe on pinterest and it comes from Iowa Girl Eats.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup of Milk
  • 4-6 oz Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 Cup of Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 Cup of Frozen Banana
  • 1/4 Cup of Raw, Uncooked Oats (I used Quakers)
  • 1/2 Cup of Ice Cubes

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Thoughts After Reading:

When I first tried it I thought it tasted good, but not very muffin batter-y. But I put it in my fridge and the next day drank it. The oats had changed after being soaked and it made the smoothie much thicker. I wouldn’t say it tasted like blueberry muffins, but definitely blueberry batter. Kind of like eating raw cookie dough, but in a good blueberry smoothie.

Triple Green Protein Smoothie

I swear I have the never ending package of spinach.

Now I like spinach, but ever since I made the Spinach Pasta Salad I haven’t been able to use it fast enough. I don’t want it to go bad, but what else can I make that is different and post-worthy?

So I scoured the internet and found three spinach smoothie recipes. This is the last one.

Finally

This comes from Amy’s Healthy Baking

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup of Cubed Honeydew
  • 1/2 Cup of Plain NonFat Greek Yogurt
  • 1-2 Tbsp of Water
  • 1 Cup of Spinach, Loosely Packed
  • 1 Cup of Kale, Loosely Packed (If you have no kale or don’t like it, you can substitute with an additional cup of spinach)
  • 8-10 Ice Cubes
  • Sweetener (to taste)

Directions:

  1. Add the honeydew, yogurt, water, spinach, and kale to blender, pulse until smooth.
  2. Add ice cubes and sweetener, pulse until smooth.
  3. Serve.

Thoughts After Cooking:

What did I think of this smoothie?

It was so gross! I don’t know if the honeydew wasn’t sweet enough or the combination of the greens with the plain greek yogurt, but it was horrible.

I would not recommend making it or drinking it.

Green Tea Frappuccino

funny-drinking-alcohol-gif-25

Thoughts Before Making:

So while Annie Laurence, from Death on Demand, loves her coffee, I am not a fan. I like the smell, but not the taste; I’m a tea girl through and through. Yep, hot or cold I will always drink it.

But there is one other thing besides tea that I will purchase, a Green Tea Frappuccino. I got this recipe from Eugenie Kitchen.

Thoughts After Reading:

I thought this was fantastic and just like the one you would get from Starbucks.

fantastic

The Matcha Green Tea is expensive, but much cheaper than buying the drinks from Starbucks as you get waaay more to drink.

joker-yum

You can also substitute the ice-cream with custard, vanilla yogurt, plain yogurt, greek yogurt, etc. If it is plain or greek you might want to add more sugar.

But I thought this was soo good I have made it over and over.
