Blackberry Mint Infused Water

So for my birthday, a friend of mine bought me a infuser type water bottle. I wasn’t sure what to do so I searched the internet.

Hmm…

This recipe comes from The Casual Craflete

Ingredients:

  • A Handful of Blackberries
  • A Handful of Mint
  • Water

Directions:

  1. Mash the blackberries, releasing their juices into the pitcher or bottle.
  2. Rub the mint in your hands-releasing the oils-and place in the pitcher or bottle.
  3. Just add water and infuse for two hours or overnight.

Thoughts After Making:

So I didn’t like it.

All it tasted like was dirty mint leaves, even though I washed them.

I found another recipe which adds lime. Maybe this will be better? I’ll post if I make it.

Green Tea Frappuccino

Thoughts Before Making:

So while Annie Laurence, from Death on Demand, loves her coffee, I am not a fan. I like the small, but not the taste; I’m a tea girl through and through. Yep, hot or cold I will always drink it.

But there is one other thing besides tea that I will purchase, a Green Tea Frappuccino.

I got this recipe from Eugenie Kitchen.

Thoughts After Reading:

I thought this was fantastic and just like the one you would get from Starbucks.

fantastic

The Matcha Green Tea is expensive, but much cheaper than buying the drinks from Starbucks as you get waaay more to drink.

You can also substitute the ice-cream with custard, vanilla yogurt, plain yogurt, greek yogurt, etc. If it is plain or greek you might want to add more sugar.

But I thought this was soo good I have made it over and over.

So today is New Year’s Eve, and as I can’t resist doing a holiday post, especially since I have the perfect recipe, I decided that I’m going to post today, and tomorrow as usual.

So for many today is a night to drink away and I thought what better than to include one tasty drink recipe. Now as I can’t stand the taste of alcohol, mine is a virgin drink.

1920sparty

Thoughts Before Making:

I first made this drink back in 2012. My friends and I had decided to have an Oscar Party, and I claimed The Artist. As the film takes place in the 1920s, I thought what better way to do research than reread one of my favorite books?

postcardthegreatgatsby

As I read it, I noticed they don’t really mention food all that much, it is mostly drinks. So I went back and looked into what was the most famous drink in that time, and what came out was the Martini. As none of us were 21, it of course had to be a virgin one.

I scoured the internet and found one I liked. It comes from Martenelli’s, the apple cider company.

  • Apple Slices
  • Martini glasses

Directions:

  2. Add ice.
  3. Blend.
  4. Pour into martini glasses
  5. Garnish with apple wedge and serve.

Thoughts After Making:

So as you can see I sadly did not have a martini glass. When I make the recipe again I promise to reshoot.

The drink was amazing! I just loved and had to make it again later. You know, writing this really makes me want one right now.
